A den, a lair, a bar?

The Fox Den is located in Dundee directly under Ooh De Lally on 49th and underwood. An extension of Ooh De Lally, the Fox Den is described as an upscale lair with a low profile. The spot features craft cocktails, delicious food and moody, lowkey atmosphere. With the same mission of Ooh De Lally, the Fox Den offers an intimate space for cocktails, great food and events.

Let’s get to the nitty gritty:

The ambiance: If lowkey is your style, your vibe, your steelo you will love this place. Complete with eclectic artwork, velvet furniture and low lighting it really is a den and a vibe. If your aesthetic is moody chic, this is right up your alley. Don’t want to be inside, no problem. The Fox den is also complete with a cozy patio where you can enjoy the weather finally starting to break with a beverage. Cheers to fall finally entering the chat.  Be sure to grab a sticker and match book on your way out!

The food: Phenomenal. They have a small food menu but its worth every bite. A short list of small bites, sandwiches, snacks, sweets and more. I ordered a few items: the short rib sliders, meatball risotto and lobster roll. The sliders were amazing, a nice size with tender short rib meat that was beyond juicy and delicious. The lobster roll, wasn’t actually mine but my friend was so kind to let me have a bite, delicious. Tender lobster meat that wasn’t overdone or over sauced on a toasted roll. The meatball risotto, I have to say was probably my least favorite, the flavors were pretty mild in my opinion compared to the other dishes however the meatballs in the risotto, 10 out of 10, juicy and flavorful.

The Beverages: Fabulous! Anyone that knows me well knows I love a cocktail and The Fox Den is complete with a list of 70 cocktails to choose from. Whether you are a whiskey chick or your preferred cup of tea is te-quila, there is something here for everyone. They also have mocktails available. If you are stuck on what to choose, the fabulous wait staff can offer recommendations.

The Fox Den is available for private parties and is open for business Tuesday- Thursday 4pm-10pm and Friday- Saturday 4pm-11pm. My recommendation? You should see this place for yourself.  A lowkey space complete with great food, fabulous cocktails and amazing waitstaff is a win in my book!
